This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains how Sock Joy prepares personalised orders, where we deliver, what delivery costs (nothing), how long it usually takes, and what happens if a parcel is slower than expected. It applies to every order placed on sockjoy.shop. If something here is unclear, email support@sockjoy.shop and we reply within 24 hours on business days.
\n
\n
The short version before your socks hit the road
\n
\n
Processing: 1-3 business days to prepare your personalised pairs.
\n
Transit: 7-14 business days to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
\n
Cost: free shipping on every order, with no minimum spend and no code to enter.
\n
Where we ship: the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand only. Orders ship from the USA.
\n
Checking progress: your order status is shown in My Account and on the Order Tracking page; email us any time for an update.
\n
Running late? Contact us and we will help you work out what is happening.
\n
\n
\n
How your order gets ready to leave
\n
Every Sock Joy pair is personalised for one specific order. That means nothing is sitting on a shelf waiting for you; your socks are prepared after you check out, using the names, dates and photo links you typed in the order notes box. This preparation stage is what we call processing, and it takes 1-3 business days.
\n
What happens during processing
\n
\n
We read your order notes and match each photo link and name to the right pair, size and sock colour.
\n
We open every photo link you shared. If a link cannot be opened, we email you before going further.
\n
Your pairs are prepared, packed together and handed over for delivery.
\n
\n
We do not send a proof or mockup before production. We work from exactly what the notes say, so a quick read-through before you press the order button saves a lot of back-and-forth later. If you spot a typo after ordering, our Cancel or Change an Order page explains the 24-hour window for fixes.
\n
Business days, weekends and holidays
\n
Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. An order placed on Saturday evening starts processing on Monday. The same counting applies to transit: a 7-14 business day estimate does not count weekends or holidays, so in calendar terms it often stretches a little longer than the number suggests.
\n
When a photo link holds things up
\n
A common pause happens when a Google Drive, Dropbox or iCloud link is set to private. You see your photo when you click it because you are signed in; we see an “access denied” screen. When that happens, we email you and wait for a working link. Processing time restarts from the moment we receive a link we can open, so set the sharing to “anyone with the link can view” before you paste it.
\n
Delivery times and costs by country
\n
We ship to four countries, and every one of them gets the same free service. Your estimated delivery time is processing plus transit. The table below sets it out side by side so you can count backwards from a birthday, a stocking deadline or a Secret Santa swap.
\n
\n
Sock Joy delivery timeline by destination country
\n
\n
\n
Destination
\n
Processing
\n
Transit
\n
Estimated total
\n
Shipping cost
\n
Minimum order
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
United States
\n
1-3 business days
\n
7-14 business days
\n
8-17 business days
\n
Free
\n
None
\n
\n
\n
Canada
\n
1-3 business days
\n
7-14 business days
\n
8-17 business days
\n
Free
\n
None
\n
\n
\n
Australia
\n
1-3 business days
\n
7-14 business days
\n
8-17 business days
\n
Free
\n
None
\n
\n
\n
New Zealand
\n
1-3 business days
\n
7-14 business days
\n
8-17 business days
\n
Free
\n
None
\n
\n
\n
\n
These are estimates, not promised delivery dates. Most parcels land inside the range; a few take the full time, and occasionally weather, peak season or a busy sorting centre adds a delay that neither we nor you can control. Shipping is free on a single pair and free on a six-pair family pack. There is no threshold to reach and no coupon to remember.
\n
Planning around a fixed date
\n
Ordering dog-face socks for an office Secret Santa on a fixed Friday? Count the full 17 business days backwards from the swap and order before that point. If you are cutting it close, choose a different gift moment rather than hoping for the fast end of the range. The same goes for groomsmen socks: we suggest leaving a comfortable buffer of at least a week beyond the estimate before the wedding, so there is room to sort out anything unexpected without stress on the big day.
\n
Where Sock Joy delivers
\n
We currently deliver to addresses in the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Orders ship from the USA. If your address is outside these four countries, checkout will not offer a shipping option, and we are not able to send the order. Email us if you are unsure whether an address qualifies.
\n
Sending socks as a gift to someone else
\n
You can ship to any address in our four countries, even if it is not yours. Plenty of customers send cat-face fuzzy socks straight to Grandma in Canada without ever touching the parcel themselves. Enter the recipient’s name and full address as the shipping address, and keep your own email in the billing details so updates come to you. If you want a gift message, add it to the order notes and mention clearly that it is a message, not text to print on the socks.
\n
Addresses that need extra care
\n
\n
Apartments and units: include the apartment, suite or unit number. Missing unit numbers are a frequent reason parcels wander.
\n
Rural addresses: use the full postal address the local post uses, not only a property name.
\n
Workplaces: add the company name and the department, especially for retirement or birthday gifts sent to an office.
\n
Postal and ZIP codes: double-check them; one wrong digit can send a parcel to the wrong town.
\n
\n
Following your order after checkout
\n
You can see where your order stands at any time. Signed-in customers can open My Account and view the order and its status. Guest customers can use the Order Tracking page with the order number from the confirmation email and the email address used at checkout.
\n
The status tells you which stage we have reached, such as processing or completed. A completed status means your order has left our hands and is on its way. If you would like a fuller update on a specific parcel, email support@sockjoy.shop with your order number and we will tell you what we know.
\n
Confirmation emails
\n
Right after checkout you receive an order confirmation email listing your pairs, sizes and the order notes you wrote. Keep it handy: it holds the order number you need for any question. If it does not arrive within an hour, look in your spam or promotions folder, then contact us so we can confirm the email address on file.
\n
Getting the address right the first time
\n
Please check the recipient’s name, street, unit number, city, state or province and postal code before you pay. If you notice a mistake, email us as soon as possible. Within 24 hours of placing the order we can usually update the address before your socks leave us. After that, the order may already be on its way, and we cannot promise to redirect it. Our change policy covers the details.
\n
If a parcel comes back to us because the address was incomplete or incorrect, we will email you to confirm the correct address and talk through the options. Contact us and we will help you get the socks to the right feet.
\n
When a parcel is slower than expected, or seems lost
\n
Most orders arrive inside the estimated window. If yours has not arrived after the full processing and transit period, here is what to do.
\n
\n
Check the order status in My Account or on the Order Tracking page.
\n
Check with neighbours, building reception or a mailroom, and look for a delivery notice card if one was left.
\n
Email support@sockjoy.shop with your order number, the shipping address and a short note of what you have already checked.
\n
\n
We will look into it with you and explain the options for your situation. Every case is a little different, so we handle late and missing parcels one by one rather than with a single fixed rule. Contact us and we will help.
\n
Far-away parcels taking the full time
\n
A parcel heading to Perth or Christchurch may use every one of the 14 transit business days, especially around December. That is still within the estimate. It is worth knowing in advance so a quiet week does not cause worry. If the window has passed and the socks still have not arrived, email us and we will check what we can.
\n
Parcels marked as delivered but not found
\n
If your order shows as completed and a reasonable time has passed, but nothing has turned up, look around the property and ask anyone who might have taken it in. If it still cannot be found, email us with your order number and we will help you with the next steps.
\n
Parcels that arrive damaged or with a problem
\n
If your package arrives torn open or something inside does not look right, take a few clear photos of the packaging, the label and the socks, and email them to us with your order number. Do not throw the packaging away until we have replied. We review each case and let you know how we can put it right. For change-of-mind returns, such as chicken-feet gag socks that turned out to be less funny at the dinner table than in your head, see our Returns & Exchanges Policy: you have 60 days and the return label is free.
\n
Customs, duties and import charges
\n
Orders ship from the USA. For parcels going to Canada, Australia or New Zealand, any import duties, taxes or customs fees depend on the destination country and its rules at the time of delivery. These charges, where they apply, are set by the destination country, not by Sock Joy. If you are sending a gift abroad, it can help to check the local rules for small personal parcels in advance. If you have a question about a charge requested on delivery, email us before refusing the parcel and we will help you understand your options.
\n
Prices on sockjoy.shop are shown in US dollars. Sock Joy does not collect sales tax at checkout. You can read more on our Payment Methods page.
\n
Busy seasons and the stocking deadline
\n
December is our sock rush. Christmas stockings, holiday socks for the whole family and Secret Santa swaps all arrive at once, and carriers are at their busiest too. Our processing and transit estimates stay the same, but the chance of a parcel taking the full range goes up. Our advice is simple: order early, and count business days, not calendar days. The same thinking applies to Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Valentine’s couple socks and wedding season.
\n
Family packs and multi-pair orders
\n
If you order Kids, Women’s and Men’s pairs together in one family pack, they are prepared together and usually travel together, so the whole family opens them on the same day. List who gets which size and which face in the order notes so each pair reaches the right person. Shipping on a multi-pair order is free, just like a single pair.
\n
Gentle note on memorial socks
\n
Memorial pet socks often carry a name and a pair of years. We know these orders matter, and we treat every one with care. Because we print exactly what your notes say, please check the spelling and dates before checkout. If you need the socks for a specific gathering, leave plenty of time beyond the delivery estimate. If anything about the delivery worries you, email us and we will talk it through gently.
\n
Write to us about delivery
\n
For any shipping question, email support@sockjoy.shop and include your order number. We reply within 24 hours on business days.
